FUEL ECONOMY & THE ENVIROMENT
Class leading fuel economy with the introduction of new Legacy & Outback
As fuel prices and running costs have recently become one of the main
considerations for fleet buyers, the key to the Subaru range is offering low
running costs while not compromising on quality, safety and performance.
A major focus on fuel efficiency in the development of the new generation
All Wheel Drive Legacy and Outback has resulted in vehicles that are large
enough to compete with traditional large six and eight-cylinder vehicles, with fuel economy lower
than key four cylinder competitors.
The new super efficient 2.5L models in the Legacy and Outback range now have an official ADR rating of 8.4L/100km,
however recent AA testing in New Zealand resulted in the 2.5 Legacy sedan
using only 6.83L/100km. Part of this outstanding fuel efficiency can be
attributed to the world's first longitudinally mounted CVT transmission
which importantly uses a chain rather than a belt which is more commonly
associated with CVT transmissions.
Caring for the environment isn't all about making fuel efficient vehicles,
Subaru's factories also operate to strict environmental guidelines. This
means that Subaru's main production facility in Japan is one of only two
factories to operate to ISO 14001 and the only factory to meet this standard
in North America . A copy of the Subaru's comprehensive social and
environmental report is available on request.

SAFETY AND SECURITY 5-Star ANCAP Occupant Safety Rating1 across the entire range of current vehicles.
No matter what Subaru you or one of your colleagues drive, there is the peace of mind knowing you’re in one of the safest vehicles on the road.
Subaru is a leader in collision avoidance, collision protection and security features with the following standard on all models:
Collision Avoidance
Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive offers optimum traction in all conditions, all the time.
ABS with EBD. Anti-lock braking allows shorter stopping distances in emergencies and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) detects and controls braking so you can steer away from danger.
Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a premium control system that is designed to give you optimum control in extreme conditions, such as swerving, side-slipping or entering a spin.
Collision Protection
Occupant Safety. All current Subaru models have a 5-star ANCAP occupant safety rating*.
Airbags. All current Subaru models have dual front, dual front side and curtain airbags.
Crash protection cell. Every current Subaru model incorporates a protective cell of ring-shaped reinforcement frames to absorb the energy of an impact.
Security
DataDot security in addition to an Engine Control Unit (immobiliser system), makes stealing and identity changing of a Subaru very difficult.
* Rating by Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP)

OUTSTANDING RESALE VALUE Owning a vehicle is not just about purchase price.
Whilst performance, aesthetic appeal, environmental commitment, both active and passive safety and
security are all important factors when considering your next vehicle purchase, business is business!
The purchase of the right motor vehicle for your fleet, whether big or small, is a vital decision.
We believe one of our greatest selling points is our strong Resale Values. Resale
Values have a significant impact on the whole-of-life cost of a motor vehicle and Subaru’s
Resale Values are something we are extremely proud of, but will never be complacent about.
Our strong Retained Resale Values have not come about by accident. We have actively focused on them for a number of years to ensure a Subaru is a commercially viable purchase at all times.

AMAZING ENGINEERING PERFORMANCE All current models come with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Horizontally Opposed Boxer engine.
From the ergonomically designed interior, the superior engineering of our Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and other innovative new technologies, like Subaru Intelligent Drive – our pursuit is a safer more satisfying and exhilarating driving experience. That's why Subaru is famous for design quality and reliability.
All-Wheel Drive isn’t unique but Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is, and unlike other manufacturers All-Wheel Drive is fitted to every model. AWD offers superb traction and handling from all four wheels.
Subaru has been using Horizontally Opposed Boxer engines in production motor vehicles since 1966. The Boxer layout offers advantages in weight and size. Length and height are considerably less than an in-line engine. Its centre of gravity is low and closer to the centre of the car, meaning better, more stable cornering also contributing to fuel efficiency and improved handling. An added safety advantage of the Boxer layout is in the event of a frontal collision, the engine is allowed to slide below the cabin rather than into it.
All Subaru’s sold new in New Zealand come with a 3 year unlimited km warranty.
